WISH LIST
While we are making "wishes", here are a few items that would support our activities:
Paper and office supplies
- a Staples, Office Depot or Costco gift card is always welcome to offset the costs to produce training, membership and program materials.File cabinet
- we have not achieved the “paperless” office, and our records and educational materials need a storage location. A 4- or 5-drawer vertical file would really help.
Canopy or EZ-up
- 8 or 10 foot size - we do several public events each year and always scramble to figure out where we can borrow a tent.Storage unit
- we have wheelchairs, walkers, and several large bins of items we use to enhance the hands-on training our teams receive to prepare them and their pets for the distractions of the real world. Several of our members store these items in their garages, but a secure, centralized storage unit would definitely be an improvement!Building
- we can use long-term for training and testing purposes. If you have an unused or under-used space in or near Napa, perhaps we could talk. There are very few individuals or groups in Northern California who provide high-quality training for Animal-Assisted Therapy teams. LAPS members have the experience and talent to help others learn the skills required to be successful in this volunteer endeavor. We do not yet have a permanent “home” that can be used primarily on weekends (and occasionally at other times) for classes, meetings, evaluations and workshops.
LAPS is a 501(c)(3) public charity. Your donations are tax-deductible according to your individual tax situation.
